Welcome to Harvest Direct, a secure website where producers can market their fresh produce (fruits and vegetables) directly to the Retailers of South Africa. It's a website where producers can provide the necessary information and contact details to the retailers.
Objectives
The websites objectives are to provide a marketing tool where farmers and pack houses can market fresh produce exclusively to the major retail groups of South Africa.
For farmers who haven't establish relationships with the retail groups yet, Harvest Direct gives them the opportunity to build sound relationships so that they can sell their produce directly to the retailers.
For farmers/pack houses that have already established relationships with the retailers, Harvest Direct provides a marketing tool, which they use to simplify the marketing and sales process by creating one profile for their farm/pack house where all of their products can be register.
For the retail groups Harvest Direct provide a platform from where they can acquire product and contact details of all the registered producers, to do their procurement and planning easy and effectively.
Between the farmers/pack houses and the retailers, the website can be used so that planning, logistics, procurement and administration can be done easy and effectively with no difficulties.
To the producers:
By selling your fresh produce directly to the retailer you simplify logistics (packaging, transport, consignment planning ext), which can lower your costs and you save on commission fees.
Harvest Direct gives you the option to market your fresh produce directly to the retailer. It's a marketing tool where you can use estimated quantities. This means the retailer will be able to contact you before you plant, harvest or pack your produce. You can also use fixed quantities for products that have already been harvested or packed, so that the retailer can replenish their stock if there are any shortages.
